Promises

Promises

In my silent time today

Where I talk with my Source

I asked are we all loved

The response was yes, of course

Then I pondered for a moment

If that is truly the case

When did we create the lie

When did we fall off base

When did we decide that we

Could treat another so bad

What gives us the authority

To make others feel so sad

Why must we tear apart

The hopes and dreams others create

That…I heard intently

Is a lifelong debate

Mankind did not seek permission

From any higher power when

He decided to enslave and maim

Starting way back then

No one sought enlightenment

When evil came to mind

For that wrong which was done

Does not begin from the divine

For to hold back or desecrate

A man or group of the like

Is similar to searching for sunrise

But only during the night

It’s as backwards as

Placing horse behind a cart

Like playing make believe

With a most fragile heart

The problem worsens said my Source

When we make no moves to the latter

When my children have forgotten

All that really does matter

Like a smile out of nowhere

Rain making plants grow

Loving our fellow man

Allowing that love to show

We can hardly see the light

When the homeless are blamed

For our inability to reach out

Like Creation’s going insane

But if we do not wake up soon

The world will continue to create

The problems it has bred

Just more evil choices we’ll make

Learn to love immediately

For the seed of God runs deep

And the cost of sin is higher

Than any grudge we keep

Reach out for one another

Remember it may be only one hand

But like the great earthly beaches

It all started with a grain of sand

Create a chain of understanding

A tie that binds from your core

Show the love of your ancestors

And that of theirs before

So in your moments of silence

When our Creator touches you deep

Remember it’s not what you say

But the promises you should keep

An Angel’s Touch

An Angel’s Touch

A single gentle touch

Wiping a single tear from a cheek

Can undo the evils she felt

In a world gone so bleak

Why do we steer clear from

Those we know that are hurt

Healing can begin with

Every attempt we exert

I often wonder what we are thinking

When we are careful not to brush a hand

Pulling away so quickly

Why do we fail to understand

When we touch their hands

It’s like a heart that we touch

A small intimate gesture

That can mean so much

We may not understand why

She takes complete blame

Her world became tainted

Never to be the same

The world will never glance towards her

Seeing the same angelic face

At least in her mind

Something darker is in its place

No, she did nothing wrong

And while it’s obvious to us

It’s oblivious to her

Who we fail to gently touch

We can touch her with our eyes

Touch her with our hearts

Touch her with our love

Where she will always be a part

Of our lives forever…so

When she’s placing blame in her head

Let her find our thoughtful gestures

Of touch for her instead

Remind her of her beauty

Unique…sublime

Remind of her goodness

A God send…refined

Don’t steer away from her

Because you think it may be too much

Surround her with God’s love

And an angel’s touch

A Conversation With God

A CONVERSATION WITH GOD

Children are dying
With nothing to eat
Where is God
Is He asleep?

Our neighborhoods are violent
Killing is what we find
What is He doing to mankind

Women are abused
Left in total dismay
What is God doing
Looking away?

That child that they found
Her poor body invaded
What is He allowing to happen
To all He created?

Religious wars out breaking
Man versus man
Is this His vision
Of a world so grand?

Our air is polluted
We can hardly breathe
what should we think
How can we believe?

Then the skies grew darker
Than they had been at first
And a voice came down
“I will speak of my earth”

You question my intention
And the love for my beings
I could ignore your doubts
But I’ll tell some things

Yes, my children are starving
It’s sadly true what you say
But tell me…how much food
Do you throw away?

There is blood on the streets
I see it every day
They walk around aimlessly
They have lost their way

They are seeking acceptance
It is love they do need
They are my sole creation
Not a new breed

So while you are judging
From your house made of glass
Are you forgetting the help you needed
In your not too distant past?

And those women …my angels
So battered and bruised
Verbally…emotionally
And physically abused

Depicted in the media
As less than a thing
And beaten at home
Because of a ring

How many signs did you need
To take notice of her plight
And yet you sleep soundly
Like everything is alright

You listened to the story
About that sweet little girl
But I see it happen
All over the world

Children’s bodies assaulted
By the most evil ones
They will know my wrath
When their time comes

Wars and murder
From sea to shining sea
Yet you do nothing
But question me

Of course you can’t breathe
The ecology looks grim
But seek the real problem
It comes from within

You are pointing your finger
Up toward the sky
You question my existence
And you wonder why

Why is the world
So out of control
Why has God
Made it so

But the answer is no further
Than your own troubled heart
Instead of coming together
You push further apart

This is your world too
And while you want to place blame
I could never fault you
But…cry your own name

You watch the starving
And the abused
You could step up
Yes…you’re being accused

Accused of indifference
Accused of hate
Accused of blaming me
And calling it fate

If you want your world
To be a better place
It’s up to you
Start setting the pace

Love one another
For it is that which you do
That can make the world better
For them and for you

And while I won’t abandon you
For you are children of mine
I will continue to focus
For my light always shines

I never left you my child
And I never will
Even through your mistakes
I love you still

But if you fail to reach out
And open closed doors
The blame will not be mine
…It will be yours
