Not About sexual orientation

Not about race

Not about religion

Or other sacred place

Not about location

Not about country or land

Not about politics or other

Ignorance we don’t understand

NO matter what we disguise it as

No matter what name we shout

Let me tell you…about HATE

How it comes about

We separate ourselves from others

We shake our indifferent fist

Disregarding all but us

Hating that THEY…even exist

THEY aren’t like us after all

THEY don’t speak like WE do

THEY pray funny…hey

YOU would hate THEM too

THEIR skin is too light

Or sometimes it is too dark

THEY live where evil grows

The apartments by the park

THEY don’t make good decisions

THEY sell drugs…THEY must

THEY got what THEY deserved

THEY are less than WE

THEIR hair is ugly…accents show US

These are the lies we teach

And often are told

But be aware now and always

This is how souls…they are sold

YOU are no better

In fact the judgment you render

Is all that GOD hates

Breaking hearts that are so tender

THEY my friend you see

Are all that YOU are

This is what GOD wanted?

You’ve veered away too far

Seek yourself in others

For the greatness which selected you

Chose the others you wage against

For THEY are greatness too

Instead of finding reasons

To point fingers and raise arms

Lift your hearts and souls

HATE always causes harm

Throw away your labels

Rid yourself of anger

It’s YOU not THEM

Whose salvation in in danger

Embrace one and all

No hate…make amends

For at a Creator’s Glance

WE…actually are THEM

Dear Trayvon

Dear Trayvon,

I heard the news today. I would love to say that I was surprised, but I wasn’t. I watched everyday as the trial of your murder unfolded. I watched video recordings where your assailant said he wouldn’t have changed anything; that it was God’s will. I heard him say that that it was you that was stalking him; a thought that I find peculiar since you were on foot and he was in a vehicle. I also heard him say that he only shot you because you were beating him into the sidewalk; but I wonder how you would have been able to do this…had he not left his vehicle, as the police asked him not to pursue you. I watched George Zimmerman sit smugly in that courtroom, with no sign of remorse. One would think that even if he felt pressured to kill you…the reality that he took a life would leave him feeling remorseful…but I never saw that. Perhaps if I had, then I would have at least felt that the shooting was REALLY an accident. Maybe if I hadn’t heard him call you a punk…without having the first conversation with you…I might have thought that you hadn’t been profiled.

I watched the defense insult your mother, Sabrina Fulton, asking her if she hoped the screams for help had come from you. The question was supposed to indicate that if they had come from you then George Zimmerman would have been the aggressor. Clearly though, this line of questioning was geared to knock her off balance, But your mother is a Queen and handled herself, as such, she was clear…the only hope she could have possibly wanted was that you would have been alive.

On Facebook, I saw where your murder was compared to that murder of a 12 year old Caucasian boy in Texas. It is always sad how we place victims on trial. How one of you would have to appear more “innocent” than the other. One would have to be more responsible for his own death, than the other. One would have to be right, where the other would clearly have to be wrong.

The media criticized the use of a younger picture of you. They criticized your tattoos and other various parts of your life that had absolutely nothing to do with your murder that night.

I never expected justice; for even if the jury had found Zimmerman guilty of murder…there could not have been justice…you would still be gone. The world would still be missing your smile and your family would still be mourning the loss of a bright and brilliant angel.

Clearly evil was at work that night…and when I saw a smile come over the face of that defendant I understood…evil lives on. George Zimmerman is a genre of evil. He had it in him to do the right thing…he failed. He could have seen you for an individual, but he did not. He decided who and what you were…and created his own predisposed fear…and he acted on that fear. He followed you…and after calling the police…based on his suspicions, he IGNORED their orders. He took the law into his own hands, He approached someone who was bigger than him and then claimed victimization.

Shame on you George Zimmerman…I do not know how you sleep at night. I do not know how the eyes of that child fail to keep you awake all night …every night. I do not know where your soul has gone…but I pray our Creator is merciful with you.

He may have been found not guilty…but he was not found INNOCENT.

I am thankful that you are in peace now…lay your hands on your family…as their pain is deep…and may God have mercy on us all.

Waiting For You

Waiting For You

There is a defining lesson

Still here to be had

And if you find the patience

Without getting mad

I will share with you a truth

That no one can deny

The supremacy of racial hues

THAT is a lie

So they say you are too dark

No matter who you are within

It hurt and caused feelings

This judgment of your skin

I understand the emotions

I get where it hangs out

But let me tell what has happened

Without a single doubt

This talking that’s going on

About the lighter version of you

Is a manipulation tactic

This talk of “better” hue

When they get you to attack

Another who is lighter

They have caused a dimming

Of a soul that was brighter

It’s like when you were a child

They threw rocks at your esteem

Causing you to feel animosity

Toward other human beings

So when you talk down upon

Another walking breathing love

You are missing the reason

You were sent from above

You have cried many tears

Over this I am too dark problem

But the tables have turned and

YOU now have become them

Hating and conspiring

Loathing and attacking

Be careful my loves

Cards against you are stacking

There is NO greater race

No tint of skin greater

WE all came from ONE

Most loving Creator

If we hold onto that truth

Release the evil ideal

Holding on to HIS love

THAT…is for real

We are who we should be

Beauty is not with our skin

Like the value of a book

It’s found…within

SO the next time your mouth

Speaks louder than your heart

Remember it is these thoughts

That tear humanity apart

Smile beautiful angel

They know not what they do

Be the Queen of all Queens

They are waiting for you

We Need Gods Grace

We Need God’s Grace

I wonder when it happened

When we started to deface

The integrity of others

Solely based on their race

I’m not even certain when

Races came to be

We certainly weren’t created

From this hostility

It is man made but I wonder

Why would one think

That being superior

Would make all others shrink?

Hmmm, one must realize

With the logic we have

That looking down on others

Just makes us look bad

I mean God created all things

Who are we to say

What is better…who is brighter

How are we living today

We merely exist, I tell you

Due to our own selfish pride

It’s clear we are making errors

We are barely getting by

The planet is dying

Our air is dirty

Everyday we prove

Why we are unworthy

Yet every single day goes by

More hate being spread

And we are deciding

Who is better off dead

There is no superior man

No greater race

No perfect culture

We need God’s Grace

Purple is My Color

Purple is My Color

I refuse to live my life in your box

Where you try to define me

Through ideas tainted

From man-made hostility

Do you think you know

All there is to see

By a vision I show

Or photography

Am I only an eye color

Am I just a racial number

Funny how we appear awake

In the middle of our slumber

Are you aware of my dimensions

Or do you just need

Rules and stipulations

To stagnate my imagery

I am multi dimensioned

I am beyond your boundary of reason

I am the Light of love

I am never out of season

What is my color?

Purple…with no doubt

Oh the color of my skin

That’s what you’re talking about?

My skin has no color

I am just like you

I am the color of love

It doesn’t have a hue

I am soaked in the greatness

Given to each and every one

I have nothing but God’s grace

Let me lend you some

You too…are beautiful

You are the child He proclaims

You are error proof

We are the same

Stop seeking separation

You are blocking your own salvation

You are better than you know

Let’s get back to His Creation

I Remember

I Remember
I remember when
My life was forever changed
When I looked at another
And saw them the same …
I saw not a skin color
Or geographical locale
They looked different than me
Yet the same somehow
That was when I got it
When The Light broke through
When I stopped being me
And started being you
When I wanted for my brother
What I prayed for myself
When I asked God’s blessings
For everything else
So on this day of my journey
I wish you blessings and love
And Grace from Him
Who watches from above
So until next time my lovelies
Here’s a hug from my heart to you
May you walk in peace
With all that you do

I Will Walk

I Will Walk

I will walk right beside you

Truth our only guide

Never allowing race to separate us

For hate is a bumpy ride

I will stand beside you forever

Hold your hand when needed

Until you feel safe and loved

When the flood waters have receded

I will wear a smile for you because

I know darkness can leave us wary

And the evils man does at times

Can often be dismal and scary

Yes I will walk beside you eternally

Never leading or being led

Using God as my compass

Where light and love are bred

My path may be filled with challenges

Something I simply cannot take away

But it is also filled with unwavering love

That grows more each passing day

I will walk right beside you

I will love you endlessly

I will gladly lend you my hope

My vision of humanity

No matter the circumstance

Or what occurs along the way

I will refuse to create borders

Based on bias, indifference and hate

You are welcome along my path

For it has been for you too

My path is paved with love and truth

And I will walk…right beside you

I’m not much for politics

Will never hold office or such

Just seems like we analyze

Our world way too much

If we were all loving by nature

Kindness were our only creed

Microscopes wouldn’t be necessary

Could be judged by our good deeds

Not how much a charity was given

Not how many babies we kissed

But we’re so caught up on dissecting

There’s so much we have missed

We overlook true kindness

For the flashy displays of “humanity”

We mistake lies for the truth

And other such insanity

We should think a man true

For kissing a baby’s head

Babies are easy to love

Let’s talk about life instead

You want to make the world safer

Let’s talk about ridding our arms

Let’s contribute to peace

Stop doing others harm

This do onto others

Before he does to me

Creates human extinction

Via political party

Not caring about which party

You tend to subscribe

More concerned about love

Shining my Creator’s light

In the world that really matters

We have begun a cycle of hate

It isn’t about who is strongest

But the fragile hearts we break

What good is a human display?

If it is followed up with lies

We cover up evils of men

With well-padded alibis

Believe me we are being watched

From places unforeseen

Our actions are being scrutinized

Our intentions are unclean

We may pray in a cathedral

All are welcome to enter

For God is not as we are

Completely self-centered

Yet every day we are given

The chance to make a change

Yet the mistakes we are making

Vary little in their range

I’m observing nothing more

Not saying I am less at fault

But shouldn’t we start today

End the domestic assault

Stop the hateful name calling

What are we teaching our young?

That the winner by default

Is the one with the cruelest tongue?

Do you see the insanity now?

How crazy this all seems

To crush the will of man

Squashing his hopes and dreams

I pray we wake up soon

Before it is too late

The cost of sin is high

The punishment is great

Embrace your fellow man

Whether black white yellow or blue

For the greatness that created them

Also created you

You Are Loved

You Are Loved

We are so particular

Fixing our hair every day

We could hardly be seen

Looking half done this way

We select our clothes carefully

Sometimes the night before

Planned often days ahead

Sometimes even more

Yet while we are spending

Our time looking at us

What are we overlooking

Making our intentions unjust

If our hearts were as beautiful

As our faces and hair

We would never judge another

Yes, let’s start there

We look down upon others

While smiling in their face

Saying I do not judge anyone

Yet cursing their race

We impose our belief system

Upon others in our way

Saying it is as I tell you

No matter what you may say

We have railroaded people

Locked them in chains

Yet criticize them when

Only anger remains

We watch our women be abused

Our children being assaulted

But why even get involved

It’s not our fault…is it

Not our fault…really?

How did this thought transpire

Like watching people burning

While we walk right past the fire

If you care about self

As we all have tendency to do

While casting aside others

Who deserve the same things too

We are failing to reach High

Not doing what we should

Always talking about how we can’t

Knowing full well that we could

Acting like loving is a punishment

For a spiritual crime

Thinking not of our brothers

Because we are still stuck on “mine”

When we can not see the forest

Because of those worthless trees

We no longer must wonder why

Our garden is full of weeds

For while you may have success

Money, fame and things

You will become a victim of ego

And the punishment that brings

For ego is not real, however

When we create it within

We have edged away God

The only TRUE sin

For you are not greater or wiser

Than anyone or anything here

You have, in fact, lost focus

So you will live in real fear

Fear that one day someone

Will see you for who you are

Not an angel of truth

But a faint falling star

So start today, it’s so easy

Reach out for a hand to shake

Start loving all that

He did create

And at the end of the day

Give thanks for those touched

So you may be reminded why

You are loved so much

Do What Is Right

Do What Is Right

In the beginning there was light

And all things in between

We’ve been told this since birth

But what does it mean?

Does it mean how I worship

Should fall under scrutiny

Or that if my skin is too dark

I will be a victim of mutiny

No I didn’t get that message

When those words were said to me

Hate was never part of our

Eternal destiny

You can not impose your beliefs

Upon another’s heart

Just speak truth…wish them peace

When you go to part

You may think I should look

A little more like you

I guess the problem starts

When I feel the same way too

But the truth is that we

Are only part of a plan

No matter what we say

Like the blades on a fan

If we work against one another

There will be no cool air

And although life may get hard

Seem to be unfair

We are only a portion

Of a much larger picture

So stop sitting around indifferent

Like a kitchen tile fixture

Step up…speak up

Finally do what is right

Wrong is just wrong

Fight the good fight

If the debate of injustice

Just wages in your head

You’ve ended no war

Today there’s more dead

Does this seem melodramatic

A stretch of the imagination

We are walking around in hell

Our living damnation

The children we claim to love

Are starving to death

Another took his last breath

Sitting around politely

Wearing a sweet smile

Is evil when

Our children are defiled

Make some noise…yell

Make people jump to their feet

It’s nice if you want no problem

But there’s a child being beat

Maybe you didn’t give birth

To that child next door

But be rest assured

That child is yours

It’s the world’s child

What you do next is the key

Will you keep him locked up

Or set him free

Will you be his voice

No matter where you reside

Or sit there quietly

While again he dies

Understand my brother

And yes my sister too

That child is me

That child is you

Give him the chance to

Grow and learn from love

Show him our Creator is great

Embracing from above

Please wait no more

He has taken all he can bear

Show him humanity

By just being there

Don’t wait for another

To step and take over

Give him a childhood

Of roses in fields full of clover

Show humanity today

Shine God’s brilliant light

Help a child in need

I ask…do what is right
